Happy Valentine’s Day

Daddy brought his two Valentines some beautiful roses and a fun Valentine’s Day balloon home from work today!

Addy says “Yippee Skippy! I love balloons!!!!”

Addy loves to stop and smell the roses!

Sadly, there was a Valentine’s Day balloon mishap and Momma wasn’t fast enough (or smart enough) to realize what was going on…

Goodbye balloon, we will miss you forever.

Adelyn is 20 months, 2 weeks old and I am 21 weeks, 2 days pregnant.

Our anniversary

Despite another early morning with Addy (5:30am….::yawn::), we had a nice anniversary on Sunday!

We enjoyed some delicious watermelon:

Daddy read to Addy and really got into character:

You're wearing my hat, Daddy!

Here, let me show you how to do it.

And on Sunday night, our friends from down the street babysat Addy while we went to dinner at a Japanese Hibachi grill. It was deeeelicious.

Flaming onion volcano!

It always feels weird going out just the two of us, but it was so nice getting the chance to relax and just worry about feeding ourselves :) Thank you, Smiths, for letting us get away for a few hours!!

PS. This was the first time we left Addy with a non-family member babysitter! She was already in bed when the Smiths came over and slept the entire time they were here, so all in all, Addy did great! Haha.
Adelyn is 13 months old.

With this ring

I, Lindsay, take you, Derek,
to be my husband, my friend, my equal,
and my lifelong companion:
to share my life with yours.
To build our dreams together,
while allowing you to grow
with your dreams;
to support you through times of trouble,
and rejoice with you in times of happiness;
to treat you with respect, love and loyalty
through all the trials and triumphs
of our lives together;
and to give you all the love I can give
my whole life long.
This commitment is made in love,
kept in faith,
lived in hope,
and eternally made new.

Our Wedding

Happy anniversary to the love of my life.

Our little wedding

I’m taking part in a wedding blog hop, so here is a little tribute to our wedding!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In July 2007, after 2 years of dating, Derek proposed to me on a cruise ship in the middle of the Caribbean sea. What a proposal, eh?? Without any hesitation, I said yes. I mean, the love of my life wanted to spend the rest of our lives together – of course I said “YES”!!
We spent almost a year planning the wedding. Derek was working in Bryan, TX and I was going to graduate school at Rice University in Houston, so the best time for our wedding was during the summer between semesters. We got married in Austin, TX at the Villa Antonia, a gorgeous Italian villa that my parents found online. Our friends and families arrived from all over to help celebrate our special day with us (some of my relatives from Canada made it down!)
In just over a week, we will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary! It’s hard to believe that our wedding day, June 27, 2008, was 2 years ago already. Here’s to many more decades of marital bliss! :)
