Adelyn, the peacock, hopes you had a wonderful, spooky, candy-filled Halloween!
She sure did!!
(Post with tons more pics will be coming soon!)

She loves her hot sauce!

We went to a little mom-n-pop plant nursery to find our Halloween pumpkins yesterday. It was *literally* 25 ft from the highway… as in, we got wind-blown by semi-trailers driving by. But we had fun picking out our pumpkins!
Addy liked having the chance to roam free and touch the pumpkins she found interesting.
What a lovely model she is. Watch out, Vanna White!
Adelyn found a mini pumpkin that she liked.
And then we went back to look at the big pumpkins again.
We also spent some time smelling (and frolicking through) the beautiful mums.
See? Frolicking.
Our final purchases!
Addy seems pleased
Later on, Addy helped arrange the pumpkins and mums just so.
Here she is, trying to lift the big one. Good luck with that, child, the thing weighs ~25 lbs. That’s more than you do!
(Also, please forgive her mis-matched tshirt and shorts. It was October 27, and 86 degrees out. These were the only clean shorts we had at the moment.

Addy loves coloring with Daddy, even though poor Daddy has to fold himself into one of her kiddie chair.
But that’s half the fun, no?
Coloring sure takes a lot of concentration.
Isn’t she an amazing color-er? She’s so talented.

Adelyn has something she wants to tell everyone.
It’s true, we’re expecting Baby #2!!!
If you are super observant, you may have noticed a change or two on our blog over the past week, including a change to the blog title (Our Little BlessingS) and a new tab added above the header.
We told our families last weekend and everyone was thrilled to hear the news. While pregnant with Addy, we didn’t tell anyone until I was through the first trimester, but this time around we told them early so I can complain to them about the morning sickness and exhaustion.
Aren’t we thoughtful?? ::wink::
Nah, but really, we told them early so they can enjoy the anticipation of waiting for their second grand baby/niece (or nephew!)/extended cousin, etc.!
So far, things have been going well! I’ve been tired, had a few headaches and I feel like my bladder capactiy has shrunk (oh sorry, TMI?). I’ve felt a bit queasy at times but so far no real morning sickness, which is saying something! I was hit with morning sickness the day after we found out we were expecting Addy (and then all the way into the beginning of the second trimester), so I suppose this begs the question…
With Addy, we called her “Baby” or “Baby Z” on the blog. So far, we’ve been calling the new babe “P-Squared” since we call Addy “P” at home (see here for the explanation) and I think it’s stuck. We think it has a nice ring to it!
Adelyn is 17 months old and I am 5 weeks pregnant.
Accomplishments this month: has 12 teeth; can identify objects when asked (points to her belly button, nose, toes, vent, fan, moon, tree, door, window); quite adept at using a fork (I’d say she has about a 60% success rate of spearing a piece of food and making it to her mouth); moving up to her big-girl car seat!, will go to her changing table when we say it’s time to change her diaper;
Personality: Stubborn as all get out. If she doesn’t get her way, she stomps a foot and/or screeches. Still super lovey and enjoys playing with other kids, particularly those younger than her. She’s very observant and studies things quietly.
Sleep habits: 11-12 hrs a night, and she goes down between 7:30-8:30pm. One nap a day, usually shortly after lunch, ~5hrs after she wakes up. Naps can last anywhere from 1.5-3 hrs long.
Favorite:
Dislikes: not getting her way… you know, the usual.
Weight: ~18.5 lbs
Grandma Lo and Grandpa Joe built Adelyn a beautiful swing this summer and it has recently taken up residence in the oak tree in our front yard
Adelyn loves when Daddy pushes her way up high!
I think she likes to feel the breeze in her hair.
So now whenever we go outside, we spend a good 5-10 minutes enjoying her swing. When she looks this happy, how can we resist?
